From Brad VE1ZX

“For those interested in Yaesu’s C4FM digital system (a.k.a. Fusion), my uncle (Brad Ross, VE1ZX) and I (VE1ZC) connected the VE1HPR Fusion repeater in Hammonds Plains (145.490-) to Yaesu’s WiRES-X network yesterday night. The repeater is now part of a worldwide digital network. VE1HPR will normally be connected to the “CQ-Canada” room that is hosted by the Truro ARC (VE1AO). At any point in time, there are usually 12-20 repeaters and private nodes from across the country connected to the CQ-Canada room.

On Wednesday evenings at 10pm Atlantic time, the CQ-Canada room hosts a weekly net (with net controller Denis Rule, VE3BF) and the number of connected repeaters and nodes can hit 30 with additional connections from the US and overseas.

For those interested in Fusion, Yaesu has a sales promotion on right now with instant rebates on various models of Fusion radios.

These rebates are reflected in the discount prices at RadioWorld in Toronto right now (until December 31).“
